“Amazing things happen when we eat together”.

We wouldn’t be here without our Friends - our amazing partners who support us to answer our driving question of “what if everyone in our community had access to great food and people to eat it with?”

Each Friend gives a weekly or monthly gift to The Long Table. This support had allowed us to survive; to cook out of a lorry when we were between homes and to build the wonderful new community space where anybody can eat delicious food together, cooked with amazing local ingredients, for whatever they can afford ❤️

Last year nearly 40,000 people ate with us and paid what they could. On average 11% received a meal at no cost to themselves, and around 50% pay below what it costs us to make each meal. The support of our Friends means helping ensure we will never have to turn anyone away from our table.

Our Friends donations have allowed us to fund and fill the Freezers of Love, hire apprentices and grow our team. They also helped us to build our Brimscombe kitchen from scratch, create an awesome community restaurant (for you to regularly visit) and further deepen our roots in our Five Valleys.

We love to see our Friends join us at the table. Whether you want to use your donation towards your pay-as-you-can meal, or to enable someone else to take a seat at the table, the commitment of this regular giving can be a lifeboat in stormy waters.

Hospitality is a challenging industry to be in. Running a viable restaurant is hard in the current climate, and a pay-as-you-can one is even harder. We are still here and serving our community because of the support of our Friends, so an enormous thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey 🙏
