Sanctum | kari Aryeh + Osgled + Sarah Nicolls
Join us in the Sanctuary on Friday 30th October for an evening of explorative sounds.
Kari Aryeh is a composer, songwriter and sound artist working across experimental, ethereal pop and contemporary composition. With storytelling at the centre, her songs bring together voice, acoustic instruments and electronic sound. Classically trained, Aryeh has spent recent years writing and producing in the studio, developing music across her own releases, film and sound. She is now returning to live performance, bringing these songs into a new setting and allowing the live form to unfold for the first time in several years.
Osgled is a Mid Wales-based artist creating atmospheric music that blends experimental sounds, layered textures, melancholic synths, and dreamy vocals. Her work combines an introspective approach with a distinctive, immersive sound that moves between the atmospheric and the unexpected.
Sarah Nicolls is a celebrated pianist and composer. She invented the ‘Inside-out Piano’, a re-shaped Érard grand with the soundboard turned upright, allowing the strings to be exposed and performed with. In this incredibly special performance for Sanctum she will be playing the virtual version of this instrument; recorded in her home studio in Stroud, exploring the multitude of sounds that can be drawn from the strings. Using rubber and glass balls, skewers, magnets, bolts, straws and just her fingers, Sarah’s sound world will draw you into a playful, atmospheric, surprising, dramatic, nature-infused acoustic dimension.
It’s going to be an incredibly special evening and we can’t wait for you to join us.
