Ceilidh with live band
Join us for an amazing evening of energetic, social dancing with fantastic Ceilidh band, Da Hootin’ Whoopin’ Dobunni!
Dobunni are a recently formed band playing traditional folk dance tunes from around the British Isles and a few pieces from other shores too. Their line up includes violins, flute, guitar, double bass and percussion, with a Magnus, the caller to provide dancing instructions so everyone can take part.
There will be a mixture of circle dances, partner dances, and set dances; all the steps are easily learnt so no prior experience is necessary! It’s super if you can bring a dancing partner, but don’t worry if you come in a group of friends or alone as Magnus will help to pair people up who’d like to try the dances. There is no formal entry fee, instead we’ll be collecting donations in support of Myeloma UK on the night.

Sanctuary sessions - Louis Giannamore + CYGNET
Louis Giannamore will be playing live in the second of our Sanctuary Sessions, supported by local act Cygnet.
In 2023, the London based composer released his debut album 'World Tour!', made entirely from iPhone voice memos and field recordings collected whilst abroad - an aural kaleidoscope, rich with bright samples of birdcalls, crosswalks and found sounds from various corners of the globe
Louis is musically diverse and unsurprisingly, his percussive talents are apparent, having toured and drummed for the likes of Arlo Parks, Gang Of Youths and Loathe, all varying and contrasting. Yet his recent works explore the heavy use of samples, dark brooding synths and lush and grandiose ambience, making his musical performances emotional and impactful, like witnessing a violent thunderstorm.
Physical copies of ‘World Tour!’ will be available on the night.
Based in Stroud Gloucestershire and one half of the duo 13aX, CYGNET makes use of an eclectic array of tools: DMX drum machine, bass, guitar, foot pedals, percussion, sampled loops, voice and other bits to make flawed but honest music.
