Sanctum | momen + John Biddulph + Simon McCorry

Join us on Friday 11th December for an evening of explorations through sound with Sanctum!

Momen is the London-based duo of Iván Muela (piano/guitar/electronics) and Nat Philipps (saxophone/electronics), who balance poise and catharsis throughout the eight movements of their début album, Sympathetic Resonance. Equally inspired by Bach, Sakamoto, and time spent in post-punk bands, their world of jazz-influenced experimentation and spacious ambient textures thrives on the subtle transformations embedded within apparent stillness.

John Biddulph (electronics) and Simon McCorry (cello) will each be performing very special pieces premiered earlier this year at Cafe Oto at an evening entitled A Tribute to Éliane Radigue.

These performances bring together deep listening, sustained attention, and immersive sound practice, celebrating one of the most influential figures in electronic and electro-acoustic music. Biddulph and McCorry explore Radigue’s patient approach to timbre, resonance, and gradual transformation through two performances that engage closely with her compositional methods and sonic world.

Our pay-as-you-can dinner will be served 6-8pm. Please note, as these performances are slightly longer than usual, Sanctum will begin slightly earlier this time- at 7:30pm in The Sanctuary
