We’re looking for an engaging and adaptable team member for a varied role that blends kitchen support with front of house service - perfect for someone who enjoys both practical work and connecting with people.
Job Title: Front of House & Kitchen Team Member
Permanent Contract – 21.5 hours per week (with occasional evening shifts for events in addition to contracted hours)
Salary £12.71 per hour - full contract terms are covered below.

The Long Table is a Pay-As-You-Can restaurant and community space, creating access to good food, culture and connection for all. We produce delicious meals made with the best local produce, host inspiring events, and run creative programmes, all with the aim of building a place where everyone feels welcome.
The Role
We’re looking for an engaging, adaptable and hands-on team member to join our small, passionate team. This is a varied role that blends kitchen support with front of house service, perfect for someone who enjoys both practical work and connecting with people.
One day you might be supporting in the kitchen with pot wash, prep and service; the next, you could be making coffees, running the till and welcoming guests. You’ll be at the heart of what we do, helping to create a space that feels inclusive, vibrant and well-run.
Key Responsibilities
· Supporting kitchen operations including pot wash, food prep and service
· Regular cake baking for our café offering
· Serving meals and contributing to smooth, efficient service
· Preparing barista-quality hot and cold drinks, and snacks
· Welcoming customers and creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere
· Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across front of house and kitchen and restaurant areas
About You
· Friendly, reliable and adaptable
· Barista trained
· Confident working with people and engaging in conversation
· Happy to take on a variety of tasks
· Able to stay calm and positive in a busy environment
· Shares our values around accessibility, nurturing a supportive culture that prioritises creativity and kindness
Experience is beneficial but not essential — attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn matter most.
Contract Terms
· Permanent / Part-time set hours
· Salary £12.71 per hour
· Hours
Monday: 9:00pm – 4:30pm (Kitchen Assistant/ Baking)
Friday: 3:00pm-9:00pm (Kitchen Assistant)
Saturday: 9:00-5:30pm (Front of House)
· 33 days annual leave pro rata (including bank holidays)
